A lovely gift from our talented friend, Kaori Saki, for Overture's fifth year. She didn't operate the machine that cut the wood here, but she is skilled in a number of arts and hopefully she will open an Etsy shop or something similar in the future!

Also, we recently noticed a pretty eloquent interpretation of Overture at troutfactory notebook. The blog is run by poet photographer Trane DeVore, originally from California but currently living in Osaka (according to his profile, anyway).
The whole article is interesting and we recommend taking a look!

Anyway, more stuff coming up soon, but for now stay tuned for Saturday's Buttobi Bear and Caesar!

以前、ハウシュカ＋Overtureの写真や、いろんな場所で使わせてもらったセントラルパークでの写真を撮ってくれたお友達、カオリちゃんからOverture５周年のすばらしいプレゼントをいただきました。（上写真）

このオブジェはオーダーしたものだそうですが、彼女自身もいろいろと制作しています。近い将来、Etsyショップか何かでその作品達が見れる事を祈りつつ…カオリちゃん、どうもありがとう！

もうひとつ、これは偶然見つけたものですがtroutfactory notebookというブログ（英語）でRhubarbidooのビデオとOvertureの事について、とても素敵に紹介してくれています。

書いたのは（プロフィールによると）カリフォルニア出身で今は大阪で暮らして詩や写真を制作しているTrane DeVoreという人だそうです。

新作ビデオをリリースしたりする時期は、いろんなメディア（ブログなど）でOvertureの紹介や、作品の感想など書かれているもの読む機会があります。

他の人の視点でOvertureや作品を見てみると、こんな風に見られているんだなーと、自分では気づけない新たな発見がたくさんあります。

後ろに抱えてる大きな袋の中（両手で持ってる木箱、でもなんでもいいですが）には、出たくてしょうがない情報がうろうろ歩き回ってますが、近い将来にお知らせできる事を祈りつつ、いまはさよならです。

R.I.P.

Here's a poor shot of our piece in the Creatures & Monsters group show at Through the Music Gallery in Brattleboro, VT we spoke of last week. Below is the original drawing. For the show we cut it up and mounted it on plexiglass we spray painted the back of black. It sort of looks like the three deceased are floating.
The show goes until the 25th!














先日スタートしたThrouth the music gallery でのグループ展、”Creature & Monster” オープニングの夜に訪ねてきました。今回の作品は３人のモンスターの死体で形作った「R.I.P」の文字です。相変わらずたくさんの人で賑わっていたTTMG（撮るの忘れちゃいましたが）、25日まで開催中です。お近くの方はぜひお立ち寄りください。

Looks like Buttobi and Caesar stop into Federal St. Books on Saturdays just like we do! They seem to be getting a bit more out of the experience, though.

Creatures & Monsters and a little bit of Overture

The image above has all the info, but there's a monster-themed group show opening this coming Friday at Through the Music Gallery (where we've shown at before) and we have one new piece that will be taking part. The opening reception is from 5:30 - 9:00 PM on Friday, November 6th!
We'll also have photos up of the new piece after the exhibition is under way.

今週の金曜日から、以前展示した事のあるバーモント州・ブラトルボロのThrough the Music Gallery で開催されるグループ展「Creatures & Monsters」に新作イラストレーションで参加します。オープニングレセプションは11/6の5:30 - 9:00。

展示される予定の作品の写真アップはオープニング後にいたしますー。

Imaginaria Film Festival

And yet another screening!
Bryum & Kapok, in its entirety, was selected to screen in the 7th edition of the Imaginaria Film Festival in Conversano, Italy! The festival runs from the 11th to 15th of November and Bryum & Kapok will screen on the 12th from around 6 PM. A schedule can be found here (in Italian).

今年の秋はお知らせする事が多いですね。

もうひとつ、上映が決まりました。今度はイタリア！B＆K３部作、イタリアデヴューです。

11/11〜15にイタリアのConversanoで開催される第７回Imaginaria Film FestivalにてBryum & Kapokが選ばれ、３部作まとめて上映される事が決まりました。

上映は12日夕方６時。詳しいスケジュールなどはこちらで確認できます。（イタリア語）

Another screening!

Byum & Kapok: A Lilt will be screening at the Institute of Contemporary Art, London on November 6th! It will screen as part of Little Pencil, a workshop where children draw to music.
This is an amazing opportunity and the first time our animation will be used in some kind of children education.
If you have kids and are in London, please take a look!

また新たな場所で上映が決まりました。今度はロンドン、それもICAで！

Bryum & Kapokの３作目、「A Lilt」がロンドンのInstitute of Contemporary Artsで11/6に開催されるLittle Pencilという子供のための音楽とドローイングのワークショップにて上映されます。

ここは、もう１０年以上も前に私（Aya）がロンドンでギャラリー巡りをした時に訪ねた事がある思い出の場所です。こうして巡り巡って自分の作品が上映されるチャンスが来た事、とても嬉しいです。

★アニメーションカテゴリでノミネートされていた、The Swatch Young Illustrators Award　2009。先日結果が出て、残念ながら賞は逃しましたが、ノミネート作品の展示は11/1まで続いています。お近くの方はぜひ立ち寄ってみてくださいね。
